When I was young and in middle school we used to make this recipe and sell it at lunch time in small cups for $1. Ever since then I have been making it for family gatherings or any get together I go to where we have to bring something. No matter where I go, this bowl gets cleaned out and everyone asks for the recipe. So here it is!

This serving will feed about 30 people with small scoops. It’s very rich so you really only need a little bite of it. Or you can make separate individual cups for people to grab at a party.


2 – packages of Oreos

2 – 8oz blocks of Philadelphia Cream Cheese (softened / room temp)

2 – boxes of Vanilla Instant Pudding

2 – 8oz container of Cool Whip

2 – teaspoons of Vanilla Extract

2 – cups of Confectioners Sugar

4 – cups of Low Fat 2% Milk

I make this recipe in 2 batches, I just prefer to do it that way but you could certainly mix it all together at the same time to make it easier. Follow these steps:

Step 1:

Crush the 2 packages of Oreos. If you have a food processor I like to chop them up in that. It just makes it so much easier and less messy. You could put them in a bag and smash them to let out some anger if you need to! But that tends to get messy so I like the food processor and I like the oreos to be a fine grind with little chunks. I don’t like them too chunky, but you can do them however you prefer!

Step 2:

Mix the Vanilla Pudding and Milk together. Follow the instructions on the instant vanilla pudding box. I like to use low fat milk because I feel like it tastes better. I have used whole milk before and didn’t like it. Just my opinion.

Step 3:

Mix the Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Vanilla Extract and Confectioners Sugar together. Make sure the cream cheese is a little soft or room temperature so that it is easier to mix. You want to mix it until smooth and there are no lumps.

Step 4:

Add the Vanilla Pudding mix and Cool Whip to the cream cheese mixture. Blend them all together until smooth.  

Step 5:

Grab a large bowl and layer the oreo cookies and the mixture. I like to do oreos on the bottom, the middle and the top.

If you are looking to do something fun, you could add food coloring to the mix to go with the holidays or theme you might be doing. You can do different flavors, substitute chocolate instead of vanilla pudding. Or you could even just add some food flavoring like peppermint!

Most people make this for kids parties, summer parties or even Halloween parties and you can put them in flower pots with gummy worms! Kids love them! Just have fun with it!
