I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice Cream! Doesn’t matter if your having a kids party or an adults party, this is for all ages!

Here’s the scoop on how to get started!

Most important item is the ice cream! Of course you are going to want the standard vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. It’s fun to include a fun flavor too if you can, like mint chocolate chip or cookies and cream. It just depends on how big of a crowd you have and how much you want to offer. To keep the ice cream cold, display it in larger buckets with ice and have your guests scoop their own ice cream. A cool tip I learned from working in catering was also pre-scooping your ice cream and refreezing it in large bowls or pans. You can even pre-scoop the ice cream into individual bowls and have it ready for your guests to just grab as they go. Your guests are going to have fun with all the toppings anyway!

For toppings you are going to want a lot for your guests to choose from. That’s what makes it so fun! Display them in something cool like mason jars or different shaped bowls and glassware. If you are looking to have hot sauces like chocolate and caramel, you can use small crockpots or fondue pots with a small ladle. Another idea is to use individual squeeze bottles or mason jars, put some water in a crockpot on warm, and place the bottles/jars in the crockpot. It will keep the sauces warm for serving.

Here’s a list of yummy toppings: M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, Rainbow & Chocolate Sprinkles, Gummy Bears, Crumbled Oreo’s, Heath Bars, Shaved Coconut, Marshmallows, Walnuts, Peanuts, Strawberries, Pineapples, Raspberries, Blueberries, Bananas, Cherries, Chocolate Sauce (hot or cold), Caramel Sauce (hot or cold), Strawberry Sauce, Marshmallow Sauce, Peanut Butter Sauce, and Whipped Cream. Of course you can add and choose whatever you want though! How cute are these mason jars with toppings by Baked Bree? You can even label the spoon or front of the jar with the name of each item!

Make sure you include different options for serving as well. Give them the option of having a bowl, waffle cone, sugar cone, cake cone or even a waffle bowl. Some people just even like to have waffle pieces that they can break up and have with their ice cream. Here’s a fun display for your cups or cones.

A budget friendly idea for some decor around the ice cream sundae bar are these adorable balloons! They look just like an ice cream cone and are so easy to make! Get some colorful balloons, brown construction paper and roll the paper around the string. Can’t get any easier!

So – cup or cone? I am ready for some ice cream now!
